I thought the few dramatic character moments played better than the general joke delivery, but I have to say it was an hour and a half of goofy fanboy fun with this movie. Yes, you probably should know your Wars, your Trek, a little Gate wouldn't hurt and maybe a few other genre shows to truly enjoy the many and varied in-jokes throughout.
And, yes, there are geek references that feel a little forced, even for an unabashed celebration of Star Wars geekdom. Still, some folks may just wanna watch it to see Kristen Bell in a Leia slave outfit.
