Review of Family Plot (1976) by James C — 15 Mar 2009
Horrible way to end one of the most prolific careers in Hollywood history. Although Hitchcock was aging and didn't have the energy to continue directing. Which explains the mediocre direction and un-interesting actors.
Though for people interested in seeing the film conclusion to one of the greatest film careers in Hollywood history its only watchable through historical importance. The film follows a group of con-people trying to find another group of con people through inheritance and both groups try to out wit each other.
Its not the suspenseful treat we are used to in a Hitchcock film and is infact more like a comedy of errors. Where the plot line does not follow Hitchcock's usual themes. Instead were tied to a film that while a little interesting is not up to par with a Hitchcock classic.
