I should have seen it before remake. But I can say that remake was better for me: some how I found the characters more strong in the latest movie. And music/dance numbers were better. For me this was even more messy than remake.
Too much of characters, too little of their intentions/aims, no story, acting is more stage type than screen. Hardly keep myself interested till the end.
