Review of Fair Game (2010) by Aldo G — 29 Mar 2011
I liked this film quite a bit, as it was based on a true story that I knew about, but didn't know tons about. The film felt like two different movies kind of. The first is the backstory of Naomi Watt's job as a CIA agent and the search for WMDs in Iraq.
It was really interesting and it was good to see a film tell the real story, even though most knowledgable Americans probably had a clue of what went on. Then the second half of the film is after she is outed as a spy and her husband's crusade to make sure the ones who did it are punished.
The film is slow at times and you really need to pay attention to know everything that is going on. The film is directed by Doug Liman, who I've liked ever since Swingers and Go many years ago, and even though this film is different for him, it's still a very solid interesting drama.
