Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Ville U — 06 May 2009
Very dated but that's not the worst thing about it.
The main character storms around in a gestapo like outfit and has a german accent even though everyone else is very English. Why? But that's not the worst thing either.
The worst is that the acting is so bad and the story is told so unconvincingly that one can't help but cringe.
I haven't read the novel but I've read a lot of Bradbury's writing and I know that they must have done the book a disservice.
In this film, we see how it influenced films/stories like Logan's Run, Minority Report and Equilibrium. But I think that is more thanks to the novel than the film.
