Review of Fading Gigolo (2013) by D'arcy P — 06 Jun 2014
Whilst not quite hitting the top marks of brilliance, this compelling and fairly short film offers a lot to make you smile. I personally find woody Allen hard to enjoy and the same applies in this in some way in that he bumbles his way through in his normal way but it only adds to the quirkiness of the story.
Huge credit goes to the marvellous John Turturro who shines as the gigolo in the title who comes across as strangely moral. There's a warmth and non volatile feel to the characters and situations which makes the atmosphere of the film all the more enjoyable.
