Review of Fading Gigolo (2013) by Y.k. G — 05 Oct 2014
Its three strikes out for me when it comes to Turturro as a director. This is one misbegotten exercise, a would-be act of directorial narcissism that takes a funny premise and wastes the potential with half-baked milquetoast sentimentality.
The film dissipates as it dices up elements from a completely different film that could have been written by Isaac Bashevis Singer. A litany of missed opportunities.
