Review of Faces (1968) by Marko H — 26 Nov 2007
This was my first experience with Cassavetes. I'll have to do some more thinking about this one. I would say that there were solid performances here by the cast, and his style of filmmaking is beautifully original and interesting.
The camera focuses on the face (appropriately enough!), and it makes for an interesting series of shots. However, the story is lost on me, and I found myself wanting to just get through the film. Regardless, it gives me enough to want to see more Cassavetes.
