Review of Faces (1968) by Eric R — 06 Oct 2008
The best study of relationships and human emotions that I have seen. The film is incredibly raw and Cassavetes is such a master of knowing when to punch in for the close-up. Cassavetes brilliantly explores the inner turmoil in peoples life looking past the image they want you to see.
No emotional manipulation in this film. One of the best american films ever made.
