Review of Face/Off (1997) by Shawna L — 08 Feb 2012
This is an action-packed thriller with loads of suspense and insane stuntment, before blue screens, green screens and CGFX--just good old-fashioned action, stunts and explosions. The premise is far out, even all these years since its release.
After easier roles in National Treasure and Ghost Rider--awesome, especially the latter, yet for the most part Cage is playing the same role in both films--so after those easier, similar, recent roles, this wild character reminds us how Cage got where he is today.
Travola is equally impressive, especially when these fine actors begin mirroring one another, so to speak. Overall, it's a fun ride that makes you think about what it would be like if your greatest enemy became you while you were trapped elsewhere--the carnage and wreckage he or she could cause to you and, worse, to your loved ones.
