Review of F for Fake (1973) by Jonathan M — 15 Jun 2010
Although a bit over the top (the Oja Kodar part should have been cut), this quasi-documentary about authorship and fakery is very well done. It centers on the 20th century's greatest art forger and the book written on him by the guy who would later be jailed for faking Howard Hughes' autobiography.
I'm not sure that it says anything new, but as a kind of video essay it is unique and informative.
