Review of F for Fake (1973) by Derrek W — 09 Apr 2012
It's difficult to begin to describe Orson Welles' take on a novelist/charlatan who was studying a painter/charlatan (and that's not even taking Welles' status as a faker into account). But most of all it begs the question, can art be false? And even more than that, do the very questions he's asking matter when all turns to dust? F For Fake is extremely thought-provoking but even more than that it is simply a fun ride which takes one through the possibilities of the medium.
