Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Julian M — 06 Feb 2011
This film, as most Kubrick films, is beautifully shot, concise and sticks to its premise. It consistently builds the suspense and tension throughout the film and needs multiple viewings to unpeel all the layers.
It is not Kubrickâ(TM)s best film by any means and the ending is a little anti-climatic, but for a two and a half hour film it drifts by at a nice pace. If you are a Kubrick fan, this is a must see and probably worth buying as well.
And, as aesthetic of a film maker as Kubrick is, itâ(TM)s well worth getting on Blu-ray.
