Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Dane P — 15 Sep 2015
I still have the score playing in my head from 2 weeks ago; that's something. Music doesn't usually make that much of an impact on me but the score in this film was the atmosphere, the story, the emotion, the fear. It was wonderful.
The story wasn't what I expected, which I've read is the case for a lot of audiences. The film is not an erotic thriller about sex but a thriller about class, wealth and power. Tom Cruise as the lead was great; so watchable, relatable and realistic. Nicole Kidman's character was a lot more grating and flat. I didn't care for her much.
Gripping and thrilling, this film left me wanting more whilst being blown away.
