Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Angel J — 06 Dec 2010
An epic classic about the dangers of Relationships, love and betrayal. The film consists of brilliant developed characters and a fascinating storyline that is simply amazing overall. The characters start out cold and eventually are tested and transformed by the end, this is seen mostly by the amazing lead character Bill who takes life for grant it and has a routine life but is finally hit with this powerful change and experience.
All the characters change and develop but the most comes from Bill. The story is great, I love watching the characters work with this outline in such a unique way, the film starts out fancy and real and by the midpoint of the film everything feels dream-like and something from a fantasy, its quite the compelling story that constantly further develops Bill shows what the film is trying to show with its many meanings.
The cinematography is great and very cleverly done as well as the music as it fits very well with each scene. I have to say watching this once I am still confused by some certain elements in the film but of course, I'll watch it again and probably have a clearer view with the story.
Overall, this is a phenomenal film and it is one of the best films I have ever seen.
