One of my fav Stanley Kubrick pictures. I admire EWS for it's performances, particulary Nicole Kidman who has dark secrets of her own. Tom Cruise is very good as the naive doctor who goes out on a lonely journey into the night only to be disillusioned by the events he has witnessed.
Everyone knows this was Kubrick's last picture before his death in 1999 but EWS marks the end of a filmmaker who's creative vision and indepth storytelling pushed the boundaries of cinema.
