After a long time, I have seen a watchable movie from Stanley Kubrick. With the exception of A Clockwork Orange, I did not find any other Kubrick film to be interesting, in fact, I felt that The Shining(1980) was stylish but baseless and the 2001: A Space Odyssey to be bland and awful. Eyes wide shut turned out to be a good platform for Tom Cruise's acting talent and although her acting was good, Nicole Kidman has got nothing to do really in this film. Like in almost all Kubrick films, the background music was splendid, with some Tamil lyrics in between. The cinematography and the sex scenes especially were interesting. Kubrick's direction is good. The film starts off well and it has a good first half, but as it went through it's second half, it lost it's steam and relied too much on confusing plot with not so believable supporting characters.
