I had put off watching this for a while (probably due to my aversion to all things Cruise) but I found Eyes Wide Shut to be a very intense yet enjoyable film full of some wonderful sequences and astonishingly beautiful aesthestics (especially in HD).
So Tom Cruise just playing Tom Cruise aside Eyes Wide Shut ranks, for me at least, close to best of Kubrick's work. Which, to be honest, is pretty much everything he made post-Spartacus.
