It depends how seriously you want to take this movie from the outset. If you're looking for a classic horror, then it's going to fall flat, if however, you're more interested in seeing how a supernatural plot can be exploited to portray 1970s trends in sex and violence as an artistic medium then it's a lot more interesting.

I don't think this film was ever intended to be mere entertainment. I found little messages lurking in it throughout and as a girl born in the 80s, it says something....... gives insights....... to me about the kind of movie that might have been served up to young adults of my parents generation.
