Review of Exotica (1994) by Samuel S — 26 Mar 2007
Like some of Egoyan's other films, hype and teasers suggest a lustful 'young and the restless' type text (Where the Truth Lies is another). But also, like his other films, Egoyan places himself in the upper tier of contemporary auteur directorship. A stylistic orgy of colours, emotion and tension leaves the viewer breathless and begging for more head fucking.
It's also good to see directors still trusting there closest actors to perform well consistently.
