Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by Benjamin W — 29 Jan 2015
Much like "Noah", with its high profile director and actors, "Exodus" is an interesting interpretation of a well-known Biblical story.
What it does well is really depicting the scale of Moses' story. Not only the scale of the amount of people, or how large the Egyptian cities were, but the scale of the time that it took for things to happen.
That being said, there were a few omissions that I couldn't overlook (Aaron's reduced role, pillars of fire, snake staffs, etc.). Still, while "The Ten Commandments" has the Hollywood feel of the 1950's, "Exodus", with its explosions and CGI has the feel of our modern Hollywood.
