No, it wasn't a strict reenactment of the bible story. It was a Hollywood, loose translation. As long as you go in expecting that, this movie is entertaining. My biggest problem was the lack of actors of the proper ethnicity in each part.
We're in Egypt and we've got British people and freakin redneck-sounding Sigourney Weaver.
