Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by R.j. V — 06 Mar 2015
Surprisingly boring. The main leads seemed to be phoning in their rolls. The editing was abrupt and it just seemed to jump from event to event with little transition or context. This was basically the story of Moses retold as a historical epic which barely referenced any of the religious subject matter. And at two and a half hours this movie , despite the quick cuts, it seemed to drag on, and on, and on.
Do yourself a favor and skip this. I enjoyed Noah much more...at least it had a cohesive story that didn't hide its true origins. Or watch Prince of Egypt instead. At least that film held true to the story and didn't try to reinvent itself like Exodus did. Exodus took so many liberties with the plot.
I'm done. Moving on.
