Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by Clayton R — 12 May 2015
For some reason I keep watching these movies expecting Hollywood to at least broadly follow the actual storyline. This story means nothing if you aren't Jewish or Christian, so why completely ignore the 2 accounts that tell us what happened? It totally misrepresented God, Moses, Aaron and the Israelites and it basically ignored Pharaoh & the Egyptians in terms of the extent of their liability to what happened to them.
It ignored all the essential ingredients that make the story amazing. And on top of that, it isn't even a good film - poor acting, boring script and you have to sit through 2.5 hours hoping something will happen, only to find out you've wasted 2.
5 hours of your life... Worst Ridley Scott film yet!
