Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by Zachary Y — 08 Jun 2015

There was some great first-class work done by Ridley Scott here, unfortunately it didn't add up to a classic, as he wished. The directoral vision of the film was great with scenes like the crocodile massacre, sea of blood, colossal wave, were brilliantly brought to life, the overall film was unnecessary; a blatant attempt to make the next Gladiator, attempting to draw in the followers of the pre-existing "franchise", the biggest franchise of them all, Christianity.

Aaron Paul is great, albeit underused as Joshua. Bale doesn't do anything too impressive throughout and it ends up being an impressive display of visual effects.
