I find it very funny how many people watched this movie and didn't get the sexual overtones. Obviously, these critics aren't familiar with David Cronenberg's other films. Yes, of course these are all sexual overtones.
People always say how gross and uncomfortable his movies are, but I love them for that very reason. They are not easy movies and nothing is ever spelled out for you. People even complained that the ending was too abrupt.
It had a great ending. Any other ending would have been inappropriate.
