Review of eXistenZ (1999) by Miles B — 07 Apr 2010
Cronenberg is fucking weird, is all I can say. This is his most accessible of the weird films he has made over the years, with an impressive cast and a plot that starts out annoying, but soon reveals more then meets the eye and becomes very compelling.
The end is a bit of a let down, but it doesn't eradicate the fact that this is one fucked up universe that these characters live in. A must for any Cronenberg fan, and a good starting point for someone not sure if they are ready to tackle Videodrome or Naked Lunch or the like.
