Review of Evil Dead (2013) by Ryan H — 21 Jan 2018
It may lack the dark humor that made the originals classics, but Evil Dead more than makes up for it with more scares, gore, and even more brutal violence. Fede Alvarez adds an incredibly bloody touch to the franchise, and Jane Levy's phenomenal performance as Mia Allen is my favorite part of the film.
The final battle between Mia and the Abomination is one of the best horror movie showdowns ever. If you go into this movie expecting the same slapstick violence as the originals, you will be disappointed.
If you go into it with a open mind and a willingness to be scared shitless, you will be more than satisfied.
