Even if this remake was terrible, it would have to be really bad to ruin the classic original, since it has been adapted and parodied plenty of times since - some of the most popular being Cabin Fever and Cabin in the Woods - but this latest rendition is actually an okay watch, with enough geysers of gore to keep the horror fans happy.
Its only downside is that it takes itself far too seriously, and thus any attempts at a laugh are awkward and jarring. But overall, it's doesn't do too bad.
