I have to admit, I did not see the direction the plot took coming. At all.

Evidence is a pretty stylish movie for about half of it. Unfortunately, as with many found footage films, it takes quite a while to get started, and is plagued by annoying teenagers. This might turn a lot of people off to the entire thing. They overstay their welcome fast. This is not helped by the fact that the film makes poor use of the camera. There's simply no reason it would be on at many of the points in the film. The other big problem is that these characters would have been caught and killed a dozen times over the course of the film. If you can overlook these three critiques, you'll get a pretty tight script. The horror starts quite early, and continues to ramp up. A little over halfway into it, things go straight up nuts.

This a film that gets your heart racing. It accomplishes it by a very simple formula: herd the characters into a new environment, wait a little bit, out pop the monsters, rinse and repeat. It's by no means revolutionary, but the pacing is relentless, and the ideas are sound. Give it a whirl. It's certainly better than the last two Paranormal Activities.
