Review of Everything Must Go (1996) by Cade H — 02 Nov 2011
Everything Must Go follows Will Farrell as he copes with losing his job and finding all of his belonging on his front lawn from his wife who is leaving him. He really hit rock bottom and it makes the viewer really bad for him and it doesn't hurt that he has an alcohol problem.
One thing I noticed about the film that stood out to me was how the entire movie was very monotone and stayed on the same plain throughout. There were no crazy moments, no super happy, sad or funny moments everything just flowed along at the same pace the whole time.
Because of that it got boring at times because I kept expecting something to excite me but nothing ever did. Farrell did a great job and the other cast fit in perfectly. This is something different for the usually funny Will but if your in the mood for a slow paced, sad yet touching movie check this one out.
