Review of Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone (2011) by Chris J — 03 Feb 2012
I have always loved Fishbone, this documentary is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. It cuts to the core of music as pure art and how the masses are unable to accept truth in art. Fishbone were true artists, and it was amazing to learn about their formative years, and admire their courage to approach their art without any boundaries.
It really is an enlightening look into what it means to be a "rock band" and a lot of all the different ways things can go great, or go wrong. If you like Fishbone, or you are in a band yourself, or interested in seeing some of what it might be like to be in a band over an extended period of time, this is a great watch.
