Everyday Sunshine is an amazing, highly entertaining doc about one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time! This is much more than the usual "behind the music" schtick. It traces the arc of an extremely talented group of musicians who rose up through the LA punk scene, to almost break into the mainstream, but not quite and never really finding the audience they deserve.

Fishbone are fully behind this doc, and you can tell. There is a real intimacy to the band interviews, and you can tell they are speaking from the heart. This only happens when the band trusts the filmmaker.

It gives Everyday Sunshine a certain "fly on the wall" feeling. It's like your eavesdropping on their creative process, while also showing the relationship problems that always seem to happen to the bands you love.

That the film manages to do this without glorifying or pandering, is a testament to the directors. Excellent live footage from their earliest beginnings at Madam Wong's, to their SNL appearance in the 90's, and a very touching reunion with Kendall (lead guitar), at a gig in Berkeley.

Fishbone live are completely unbelievable, and if you haven't seen the before, then this is the place to start. Then get your tix! they're on tour now!
