Review of Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) by Nicolette H — 24 May 2016

Very close to a 4 1/2. Said to be the spiritual sequel to Dazed & Confused & I agree! Basically if you liked Dazed & Confused you will like this. I absolutely loved it! Takes place in the Summer of 1980 so there is still some things that I consider 70's in it as well.

Perfect soundtrack! I love how music was a character as well. From old school Hip-Hop to classic Disco then Motown Country & some Punk Rock thrown in, OMG just amazing! Helped tell the story. Follows a bunch of baseball players the weekend before college classes begin.

While the story is "pointless" it is such a entertaining movie. This is a character driven movie. Richard Linklater has again created wonderful characters to watch. He writes them with such ease it almost feels like you're watching a Documentary.

I also felt the pacing was better in this than Dazed, which is why I like it a LITTLE bit more. Not sure if it's necessarily better though. Just cause Dazed was 1st & loved how it was told in ONE night vs a weekend but I think Dazed helped me have an idea what to expect which was a awesome character developed story.

All the actors were great. I've been a fan of Blake Jenner's since Glee so it was great to see him in this. EVERY actor tackles their character perfectly & each character was memorable. Also great Direction, set & costumes, great acting & soundtrack, everything I need in a movie!! A must own for me.

This was another fun time hanging out with the guys while they booze & party & meet the ladies. Haha. All before college & baseball season starts. I will say again though, if you didn't like Dazed & Confused you probably won't like this so wouldn't recommend for everyone.
