"Everybody Want Some" is about a group of college baseball players and their numerous humorous adventures with each other and the opposite sex. A lot of the conversations are funny. Some are sweet.

And upon reflection, there are no scenes where these handsome and horny guys disrespect women. Not in actions or words. They really like women and themselves and themselves with women. The women are bit players and there's only one female character that's even in more than a couple of scenes.

She's an idealized but believeable character of intelligent female college cuteness. Her scenes bring maturity and meaning to the last half of the film. But it's both subtle and obvious enough to be satisfying.

The main male character is free to play around with as many young college girls as he'd like, but he follows his heart and what it's attracted to. They're all nice and decent and smart and charming as hell.

They're just college kids and free to learn and decide. It's nice to see a movie where they're actually nice people underneath and not some darker versions of young people filled with entitlement or anger.

It treats drugs and sex and alcohol honestly and never makes one or the other the goal, just a useful tool to be used in pursuit of a good time. Good movie. A more thoughtful type of Animal House.
