Review of Everest (2015) by Don W — 24 Jan 2016
Everest doesn't really offer any surprises considering it's a movie about a mountain climbing disaster. Pretty much all of the principles involved in the actual story ended up writing their own account of what happened, so expect the hollywood version of a "true story.
" Including some dizzying special effects and questionable dialog. Notable exception being that they didn't try to artificially craft a happy ending onto a tragedy. The most puzzling aspect to me: why the ensemble cast? Everyone has to dress for cold and sun, so lots of coats, hoods, goggles and oxygen masks.
I didn't realize one of the main characters was Sam Worthington until late in the movie. Weird?
