Review of Everest (2015) by Connor M — 29 May 2017
At first I thought this was a IMAX experience-related film, but when I found out this wasn't a documentary I was on the fence of whether or not to see it. Jake Gyllenhaal is one of my favorite actors, so I eventually wanted to come around to seeing it.
After the film ended I didn't know how to feel, really. There are many visually stunning moments throughout the film, but there are many characters that I didn't care whether they died or not.
Gyllenhaal had a criminally low amount of screen time for that big of an actor, and I really enjoyed Josh Brolin's performance. The film dragged on during some moments, and I felt that there was way too much buildup towards the climb that I became bored at times.
This is a film for those that love amazing visuals and a solid survival story, but other than that it is just an average product.
