Review of Event Horizon (1997) by Vincent V — 05 Aug 2013
Poor Event Horizon. Rejected by critics but loved by viewers. Count me among those who loved Event Horizon. When I finished the film, the only way I could describe it is The Shining in space. It's a sci-fi film about a research space craft that goes missing for seven years and when it reappears, it's architect and a small team go to deep space to check it out. Nothing aboard the ship is the same and there are eerie things happening on board.
The movie had a great cast: Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne performances were pretty good for a horror movie.
The plot was creepy as hell and thus increased my fears of space. I will never be an astronaut or planetary colonist. I'll stay happily on Earth, even if it blows up.
Such a great movie. I'll see it again.
