Review of Evening (2007) by Mat P — 17 Apr 2009
Slow and boring, sadly, for with such a cast, you would have wanted much more. also, as gorgeous as redgrave looks, as she not been lifted: her cheeks are so neatly regular suddenly. does it matter? well it's just that seeing those character taken and trapped in time played by these time-unassuming actresses is saddening. streep is peach-skined, her make-up tries to olden her lifted face. glenn close looks 30 again. I so understand that as a person you don't want to grow older, but as actors it looks absurd, ridiculous, and pathetic. where are the real older people.
Colette is just ok. she can be such a genius, not here. richardson is here in her final performance and there's nothing special about it. wilson was sooo excellently magnetic in little children, and here...?! nothing. danes is overdoing the same faces over and over.
Anyway. crap movie, too bad. oh well. stick to the hours in a genius similar tone gem.
