Review of Evening (2007) by Sloopy C — 03 Apr 2009
LAME! I wanted so badly to enjoy this movie, but alas, that was not the case. It would take the crappiest director in the world to make such a star-studded cast look bad...so I guess Lajos Koltai is the worst director in the world.
First of all, the beginning of the movie gives away the ending, making the viewer disinterested. Two story lines, past and present, are told throughout the duration of the film, and each is equally boring and underwritten.
Because it shifted from past to present so frequently and randomly, it was impossible to grow attached to any of the characters. I am appalled that Patrick Wilson's talent was wasted on this. On the whole I felt frusterated by the end, that I hadn't gotten anything out of it.
