Review of Even the Rain (2011) by Kyle S — 14 Mar 2011
I went in thinking this might be a little formulaic. It wasn't. :).
The film surprised me with its beautifully developed characters. Even though Bernal received top billing, Luis Tosar and Juan Carlos Aduviri stole the show. Tosar's brash and budget obsessed Costa undergoes an incremental moral awakening. This is nicely contrasted by Aduviri's stoic and determined Daniel. Overall, a well crafted film with a solid script from Paul Laverty (The Wind That Shakes the Barley).
