Review of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1994) by Markie M — 07 Dec 2004
I am really disappointed by the rotten reviews of such a bravely done piece. I gotta say, I enjoy the vulgarity, especially lacking in the female protagonist genre. I love the characters most of all, Uma Thurman's lead is footloose but, I'll admit, exhibits less agentic force than is anticipated or, at least, desired.
My favourite character remains to be topped in force, activity, or name; the one, the only... Bonanza Jellybean! Her outspoken determination are great (as well as rare) to see on screen or off, and I commend all involved in her creation.
An especially wonderful scene is that of the threateningly forward "unwashed pussies." I'd say its worth watching the whole film for that scene.
