Jim Carrey can really be a great dramatic actor when he wants to be. Actually I prefer his roles as Andy Kaufman and Joel Barish over Ace Ventura and Fire Marshal Bill. The movie walks the fine line of cinematic time jumping very well, without the annoying feeling that the movie is "playing you" like other films.
There is such a genuiness in Carrey's character, in an inward and honest way while Winslett's character was almost the antithesis personality-wise. The interactions between Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, and Tom Wilkinson are definitely of intrigue as well.
Nice bit of surreal moviemaking with brings forth a lot of questions about realationship interaction.
