Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Eric M — 28 Feb 2015
A thought provoking concept with enough emotional depth and heart behind the plot to rise above a few bizarre moments where the filmmaker's creativity goes too far.
Addendum: upon a rewatch, I gained a bit more respect for the film, the manner in which it casts reflection upon the nature of memory is compelling. It's a jumbled, creative blend of emotions and images, bordering on the incoherent, just as our memories do, and that is both the film's greatest strength and weakness.
