A couple undergo a special treatment that will erase each other's memories from their heads. But it is only when the process begins that they realise what they really had. This film is much more than just a sweet and tender romantic comedy, and also more than just a heartfelt film pondering about the wonder and mystery of love and relationships.

Screenwriter Charlie Kaufman returns to the scene with another one of his wonderfully original visions, which serves as th e perfect vehicle for Michel Gondry's visual imagination. The result is not only a wonderful work of art direction but a film that looks overall without creative boundaries and in a world of its own.

Carrey and Winslet deliver very interested perfoemances, with the two actors almost switching the respective on screen personalities that they are known for.
