Review of Escape from Tomorrow (2013) by Jonathan B — 21 Jun 2014
Definitely not for everyone, but I personally loved every minute of this film. Extremely dark and mean-spirited, with the blackest of humor and a wonderfully surreal atmosphere. The first hour is great mind-bendy psychological horror, and then the movie flies off the rails, escaping from Tomorrowland straight into Fantasyland, which serves as a dividing line between the audience.
You're either going to love the last 30 minutes of the movie, or feel a little disappointed. Much is left to the imagination, which, without giving anything away, is what the film, not to mention Disney, is all about in the first place: imagination.
This is a very welcome addition to my collection of bizarre cinema, and one I will no doubt watch a number of times.
