Review of Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) by Antony A — 14 Apr 2008
A fine second sequel, which rewrites the timeline of ape evolution with the arrival of Cornelius, Zira and Milo from 3950-something. The divergence of future history seen here is contrary to what writer Paul Dehn says, but if you watch all 5 films closely, it is actually so.
Eric Braeden, as the famous Dr. Hesslein, along with McDowell & Hunter, are the stars, wonderfully supported later on by Ricardo Montalban.
