Review of Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) by Carlos B — 31 Jan 2009
The third installment of the series,this action drama positions the ape doctors Zira and Cornelius with earth surroundings. This movie looks very aged and suffers from it and the plot on how the apes managed to get to earth really does not make sense at all, but the social commentary on this one is sadly a very true one with us humans.
I can only imagine what would this type of film in today's world would look like. Ricardo Moltalban's cameo was hilarious. The film becomes very slow at times, but make no mistake this is a cool piece of sci-fi from the 70's and a must for all Planet of the Apes fans.
The ending was predictable yet very sad.
