Review of Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) by Adam B — 04 Apr 2009
A decent addition to the franchise that is just about entertaining enough for you not to question why on earth it was made. Not that much actually occurs in the film of any real note, and in truth it works as more a satire on (then) modern society as it does as a sci-fi film, but it is at times funny, at other times genuinely interesting and at all times watchable, even if by the time the ending comes you will feel as though you have seen enough.
It wont live long in the memory (even of those involved) but it serves as a nice slice of extra mythology for fans of the series.
