Review of Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) by Charlie S — 02 Sep 2011
No special effects but instead concentrates on excellent acting ability of Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter as Zira and Cornelius. This film is really lots of fun with funny moments throughout. I especially liked the scene with the bananas.
Other notable scenes include the bathtub sequence and chilling and tragic ending, it makes me cry tears at the end, not many movies do that to me. The music is superb by Jerry Goldsmith with the downsides being slightly wooden acting by the humans and the scene with the man in the obvious gorilla suit.
